The Leitner Family Observatory & Planetarium is a facility of the Yale Department of Astronomy dedicated to education, public outreach, and student research.
We invite you to come to one of our free planetarium shows presented on Tuesday evenings. We are not able to reserve seats, so please arrive early if you are bringing a family or group. Note: our last public night for the spring will be June 16, and we will reopen the planetarium in mid to late-August. Outdoor telescope observing may still take place on clear nights throughout the summer. Please check this page for updates on Tuesdays.
Outdoor telescope observing will also take place after sunset on Tuesday evenings, weather and clear skies permitting. Be sure to check the announcement banner at the top of the website for the most up-to-date information or cancellations, as well as our calendar for planning purposes. Reservations are not required for outdoor observing.
